This is a great painting to learn about painting leaves, trees and shading. There are many options to change this painting up and make it your own (see examples below).

Trees branches can be a bit tricky, but if you take it slowly you'll be fine. Also, you'll have a chance to draw them on the canvas - and get your drawing to a place where you like it - before painting it in.

If you're bringing your own art supplies (50% discount!), please bring the following colors of acrylics paint. Or you can change it up and use whatever colors you like.

• Phthalo blue (cobalt works well, too)
• White
• Black
• Yellow and/or a shade of green (we do a lot of mixing the greens)
• Red and/or orange
• Also, bring a canvas (16"x20" or smaller), and an assortment of paint brushes (we generally use flats and rounds in class, and filberts would be great for this painting).
